For me, coming to America was similar to American dream with different purpose. I was dreaming that I would become speaking like a native speaker of English and that was the only thing that I wanted, so that my English can be a plus factor in my resume. I was too obsessed with GPA and competition. They were the only things that I wanted to take from America back to my country. If I have to make another reason besides study, I would say that there was nothing new in my routine. That was my minor reason for coming here. I was about to feel tired of my school life. Not only me, but many of my friends also wanted to take off from the school to find new experiences and to get refreshed. In the middle of the tired and boring school works, what I found was an exchange student program in America. I thought that it would be helpful to my major, English linguistics, and could be a chance to rest a little bit out of my school works.
