Abstract
Development Techniques of the Interactive Video Program
Oh, Hyen-Ah
The purpose of this study It was to review components of the various insteractive video systems and to discuss the procedures the procedures and techniques of the development of the interactive video disc program.
Depending on the roles of the computer, levels of interactivity, and the media selected, the interactive video system can be composed variously. This study dealt with the components of interactive video tape system and interactive video disc system. Also four different interactive video systems were presented according to the roles of the computer.
The procedures for the development of the interactive video program were divided by three major stages. Thet were 1) analyzing and planning stage, 2) designing and producting stage, and 3) editing and testing stage.
The first stage dealt with needs analysis, front-end analysis, learner analysis, hardware/software analysis, and overall planning techniques.
The second stage explained instructional design considerations including content writing and techniques of story boarding and flowcharting. The producing thechniques were disussed in detail in the following specific parts ; motion visuals, still visuals, computer graphics, computer texts, audio, and system control code.
The third phase discussed procedures and techniques from editing of the video master tape through video disc mastering to final program testing.
The conclusion part of this study summarized the above contents, Further, it suggested for the future studies in the field of interactive video program.
