Introduction

▶ Ischemic stroke
　◦ Third cause of death in US, common reason for hospitalization
　◦ Thrombolytic therapy
　　: < 6 hours after symptom onset  less than 5% patients

　◦ Subacute management : two weeks after the stroke occured

　◦ Care of subacute treatment : critical to prevent complications, recurrent stroke, death

Ischemic stroke은 미국에서 입원환자 중 흔한 사망원인 중 3위에 해당하는 질환입니다
Thrombolytic therapy가 증상발현 이후 6시간이내에 시작되는 경우는 환자의 5%이내에 해당합니다.
Subacute management는 stroke 발생 이후 2주간 진행되며
Care는 합병증 예방, stroke 재발 및 사망을 막는 데 중요합니다.




Monitoring for neurologic complications

▶ Neurologic complications
　: cerebral edema, seizures, intracranial hemorrhage, neurolgic deficits

▶ The first 24-48 hours
　◦ Cardiac monitoring
　◦ Neurologic assesmentment : Speech, extremity strength, facial symmetry
　　➜ every 2~3hours : if worsen, evaluate with CT to identify cerebral edema or hemorrahge

Neurologic complication monitoring에 대해 말씀드리겠습니다.

신경학적 합병증은 cerebral edema, seizure, incracranial hemorrhage, neurologic deficit이 있습니다.

처음 24-48시간동안에는
Cardiac monitoring 을 해야하고
Speech, extremity strength, facial symmetry 등의 neurologic assessment를 2-3시간마다 check를 해야하며
만약 악화될 경우에는 cerebral edema 혹은 hemorrhage 감별을 위한 CT를 시행해야합니다.
