Taking a case of Gap is a very typical example of marketing strategy because 1) Gap is one of the leading clothing companies, 2) Gap Inc. has many divisions such as Gapmen, Gapwomen, Gapkids, babyGap, Gapbody and also has 4 brands; Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy and Forth &Towne. Those 4 brands Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy and Forth & Towne have unique features and it makes customers’ perception for each brands. According to Gap Inc. Business Direct, Gap is about fresh, casual American style, Banana Republic is about affordable luxury, Old Navy brings fun, fashion and value to the whole family, and Forth & Towne targets on women over 35 years old. Also, in terms of its pricing strategy, Old Navy is one of the cheapest brands in the market, Gap products are middle level, and products of Banana Republic are pricy. (중략)
