The Analysis on the Youth Culture of Play in Korean Society

The play have been recognized as key concept in 21th century. Homo Ludens is one of the most appropriate name in reprsenting the characteristics of young people in modern society. The play and culture must be an attractive item in global market. In the stream of globalization every nations have concerned about the role of play to understand youth life more satisfactorily and to develop the youth culture more competitively. This study attempted 1)to analyse the aspects of culture of play in youth, 2)to find out the problems of leisure-time activities in Korean young people 3)to propose the alternatives for the fostering on youth culture of play based on the literatures and existing data in diverse surveys. The analysis of this paper revealed that many of young people in Korean society were still living passively and dry in both of study and play situation. But the limitation of this paper needed more precise supplementary explanation by the futher studies.
